TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 16, 2008) 聙聯 51爆料 is pleased to announce the appointment of Rick Myers as the organization聙聶s Region Development Manager. Myers has been a Detroit Region SCCA member since 2002. Shortly after joining, he was elected to the Detroit Region Board of Directors in 2003 and has since served terms as Treasurer, Regional Executive and Solo Director. In 2007, Myers was elected President of the Great Lakes Division. He has been awarded the Detroit Region聙聶s Siegmund Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Region as well as the Region聙聶s Solo Enthusiast Cup. 聙聹Rick is an outstanding addition to our team,聙聺 SCCA Vice President of Member and Region Services Colan Arnold said. 聙聹Since becoming a member, he has demonstrated a commitment to making his Region operate at the highest level. His dedication to the Club is obvious and we聙聶re looking forward to working with him at the National office.聙聺As Region Development Manager, Myers will play a key role in developing programs to increase membership and participation, and serve as a liaison between Region leadership and the National office. He will also be responsible for publishing 聙聹Inside Line,聙聺 SCCA聙聶s newsletter for Club leaders.聙聹Since joining SCCA, I have always enjoyed the operations side and giving back as much as possible to our Club for all of the enjoyment my family has gotten from competing,聙聺 Myers said. 聙聹I聙聶m thrilled to have this opportunity. SCCA is truly a family that shares much more than its passion for motorsports. I look forward to learning more about and working with all of our diverse Regions, and will always strive for event and operations excellence.聙聺In addition to competing in Solo and Rally events, Myers has spent time flagging and working grid at Club events. His professional background spans 18 years in the automotive industry with businesses like Roush Industries, focusing on customer support groups and developing positive customer relations. Myers is a graduate of Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich., where he received a degree in Accounting. While there he met Lorae, his wife of 20 years. They have three children, Jacob, Justin and Jason. The Myers family will be relocating from Hartland, Mich., to Kansas.
