STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. (Jan. 9, 2009) – While many Club and Solo cars remain in hibernation, RallyCross drivers have their foot on the gas and eyes on the prize, heading to the first RallyCross National Challenge event of the season, Jan. 10 – 11, at Stafford Speedway. Located in Stafford Springs, Conn., near the Massachusetts border, Stafford Speedway provides a great smooth, hard surface that’s though to come by in RallyCross. Better still, the weather forecast is predicting as much as five to nine inches of snow over the weekend. The RallyCross National Challenge event will inter-mingle with the New England Region Championship event over the course of the weekend, with National Challenge runs scheduled in the morning. RallyCross National Challenge drivers can sign up now for contingency programs from Volkswagen of America and Team Dynamics. This season, Volkswagen will pay out $200 to an eligible event winner or $100 for second place. Team Dynamics meanwhile, is offering a $100 product certificate for a win in the Modified or Prepared Classes, or $50 for a runner up finish. To be eligible for contingency prizes, drivers must register for the program. Registration forms and program information is available at by selecting “Contingencies” from the left menu. Results from Stafford Speedway will be posted on when available. -30-
