Experimentation is the spice of life, amiright? You know it’s true, so join the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge while the series does something new on Aug. 2-3, 2025, with the series’ very first trip to Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL.
This is a big deal. Like, a REALLY big deal, because this being an inaugural trip means lap records will be set no matter what. In other words, YOU could have your name atop the class leaderboard – and holding a lap record is another spice of life.
All this spice is going to make for a fantastic weekend – the only ingredient missing is you! Luckily, that’s easy to fix because event registration for the Autobahn Time Attack Challenge opens May 7, 2025, at 3 p.m. CT.
Spicy Track
Autobahn Country Club is known for being an amazing facility, with the Time Attack Challenge tackling the legendary 2.1-mile, 15-turn South Circuit. Spectacular straights and tricky turns welcome all who dare to attempt speed here – with ample runoff room allowing drivers to stretch their right foot with confidence.
How much can you stretch that right foot? The South Circuit boasts 1,850 feet of straightaway, letting drivers rip through Turn 10 and onto a blast of a straight. Horsepower only gets you so far, however, as that straight comes to an end with a hard right into Turn 11 – a corner you won’t want to blow because it sets up a sequence that leads drivers to a run for the stripe.
Turn 4 is also a thrill, as this high-speed sweeping corner lets drivers dance on the edge of traction as they fly toward a tight Turn 5.
What’s also spicy is that during the Time Attack Challenge weekend, a Hagerty Track Day will also take place, allowing drivers with a safe street vehicle to tackle this amazing course in a low-pressure environment without the ticking of a competition clock.
Spicy Paddock
Sometimes spice doesn’t have to be extreme, and that’s the case with accommodations. On-site camping at Autobahn is not only available, it’s a must-do if you want the whole experience.
When you camp at a racetrack, the party never stops. Suddenly, your on-track competitors are your bench-racing buds and an extra hand for things like last-minute brake bleeding. When you camp at the track, you’ll make memories that are going to last a lifetime.
