The race agenda for this weekend’s 70th consecutive running of the WeatherTech Chicago Region® June Sprints® is going to be a bit different from that experienced over the last handful of years. The June 6-8, 2025, event at Road America in Wisconsin is again part of the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour® (HST) but deviates from standardized schedules used throughout the rest of HST’s season.

This year’s June Sprints will feature a single-race format. That’s one race for each of the 10 run groups to see who walks away with trophies and commemorative bottles of Mazza Vineyards sparkling wine. In years past, there have been two races for each group.

So HST fans don’t miss a minute of the excitement, below is a list showing when races will be broadcast live at page. That video coverage produced by DriversEye Live begins with the opening round of qualifying Friday afternoon. Commentary across all three days will be provided by Brian Bielanski and Larry “Lefty” MacLeod.

Live HST Timing & Scoring is found throughout the weekend at . Victory podium celebrations Saturday afternoon and Sunday can be viewed at the .

Why One Race this Year?

Last October, 51±¬ÁÏ® unveiled changes to standard run group combinations for the 2025 HST series. That announcement also noted exclusion of a dedicated run group for Formula F (FF), Formula 600 (F6) and Formula Vee® (FV) cars at most HST events.

To address crowding in other run groups that are highly subscribed and often at a threshold limit, the decision was made to reallocate track time within a day’s schedule. The FF/F6/FV group was consistently the least subscribed throughout the course of a season and cannot be melded with another run group due to safety guidelines.

Originally, a specific run group for the FF/F6/FV field was supposed to only be available during HST’s visit in 2025 to The Circuit at Buttonwillow Raceway Park back in February, as well as last month’s stop at Portland International Raceway. However, the FF/F6/FV community was passionate about being part of the June Sprints and lobbied Chicago Region to find them a slot to have #funwithcars.

A letter from Chicago Region noted that FF/F6/FV has a long history at the June Sprints, and there was an ardent desire to include the group in the 70th consecutive running of the cherished event. After schedule analysis and discussions, FF/F6/FV got their run group, but all June Sprints winners would now be decided in a single-race format for the purpose of time management.

As is the case with nearly any change, some lauded this decision and others lamented the choice. Overall, the amount of time participants have on course over three days hasn’t changed much from the previous few years. But race sessions, inclusive of pace laps and cool-down laps, require more time in the day, so only one race can be  accommodated for the 10 run groups.

The single-race format is nothing new as the June Sprints’ first 60 years actually were conducted that way. Developments this year just mean there’s only one chance to be a winner, so competitors best load up with Sunoco race fuel and prepare to lean on Hawk Brakes if they want to be victorious at the June Sprints.
