DESCRIPTION:The 2018 SCCA National Convention will be returning to Las Ve
 gas\, Nevada\, January 18-20.\n\nIn 2017\, the annual SCCA National Conv
 ention is headed back to Las Vegas\, Nevada\, January 19-21 for more tha
 n 40 planned educational sessions at the South Point Hotel and Casino.\n
 Convention elements planned for 2017 include the traditional Annual Meet
 ing and Welcome Party Thursday evening\, followed by Leadership Summit s
 eminars Friday and Saturday intended to provide SCCA members with opport
 unities to further develop leadership skills\, acquire specific SCCA tra
 ining and network with others from the Club.  The SCCA Hall of Fame and 
 Awards banquet on Saturday night then caps festivities.\nWhile there wil
 l be a wide range of topics addressed during Leadership Summit sessions\
 , the overall theme for the 2017 SCCA National Convention is “Engaging O
 ur Membership.”  Topics to support this will focus on recruiting new lea
 ders\, developing strategies to build stronger bonds within our organiza
 tion\, and encouraging members to become involved in multiple aspects of
  the Club.\nAlong with traditional content for established SCCA programs
 \, there will also be a focus on creating financial stability within Reg
 ions.  Other topics include event marketing and communications\, and you
 th engagement.  A preliminary seminar schedule is posted on the conventi
 on page.\nRegistration per attendee is $275 this year\, which is a decre
 ase of $50 from last year but still includes a banquet ticket.  Registra
 tion will open Nov. 1 online at SCCA.com. A block of rooms has been set 
 aside for SCCA National Convention attendees\, and guests can book a sta
 y by contacting the hotel’s reservations department directly at 866-791-
 7626 or visit the hotel’s reservation webpage.  In order to obtain the s
 pecial group rate\, guests need to identify themselves as being with SCC
 A 2017 National Convention or supply the group code SCC2017\, which will
  entitle a rate of $65.00/night Monday through Thursday\, and $105.00/ni
 ght for Friday and Saturday.  Additional fees and taxes may apply. \nThe
  block of rooms for convention attendees will be held until December 26\
 , 2016. So don’t delay in making reservations.  The hotel requires a fir
 st night’s deposit of room and tax\, per room\, to guarantee individual 
 reservations\, and a credit card will be charged for the first night’s r
 oom and tax.  Guaranteed reservations will be held until 6:00 a.m. the f
 ollowing date.
