Rebuilding the Ralt for a Rotary in FA
Converting the 1988 Ralt RT-4 to rotary power was a big job. While doing the project I enlarged the ground effect tunnels, installed a larger radiator and oil cooler, built my own composite sidepods, built a 6 point roll cage that tired to the mid section tube fram holding the engine and tail in place, and built an intake snorkle/engine cowling. The exhaust was a whole additional project itself as the rotary exhaust would melt the 304 stainless muffler lighting the cowling on fire. We made it work. I copied several F1 designs of the mid 80s era.
